Register, from Sonate · For housing and facilities

Every room, every floor, and who is in it.

Register is a room and occupancy register for housing and facilities: one record per room, instead of a spreadsheet, a form, and a note.

Move-in Saturday · Sample

Move-in Saturday in a residence hall, every room assigned before the day

  1. Every room on the wing is already assigned.

Assignments came in from your housing system’s export before move-in, so all twelve rooms are Held by name when the day starts. Check-in is a match, not a search.

  2. Rm 204’s student checks in at the door.

Found by name, matched to her bed, and handed her key. She signs the room’s condition, cracked drawer included.

  3. Two students trade rooms before either arrives.

Their holds trade with them, 203 for 210, so each still checks in to the right room.

  4. Rm 205’s student hasn’t checked in yet.

Her room stays Held in her name, so a late arrival still has a bed. Housing releases it only after its own no-show deadline.

  5. “How many are in?” The answer is on screen.

11 of 12 rooms occupied on the wing, one still Held for a late arrival, and the whole building counted beside it.

Why the record comes first

Visibility precedes alignment.

Housing, facilities, and finance cannot agree on a room until all three can see the same record. Register gives them one true picture of every room, so the counts, the bills, and the moves are decided from the same page.

How it works

One corridor, three steps.

  1. 01

Start from the rooms and people you already have.

Rooms come in from the sheets you already keep. Who goes where comes in from your housing system’s export or a spreadsheet.

  2. 02

Keep each room current from the floor.

Move-ins, condition, and tickets, entered on a phone where they happen.

  3. 03

Every list reads from one record.

Counts, reports, and move-out, from the same room.

What you get

What changes on the floor.

Every room counted, before anyone asks.
